BY adm1n IN Uncategorized On 08-08-2018
Aloha HFS Customer,
A category 4 hurricane is expected to continue south of the Hawaiian Islands. The storm contains maximum sustained winds near 130 mph.
On its current path, the storm could be expected to present high winds, heavy rain and high surf. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Hawaii County (Big Island).
Marjorie C MC085W (LHX): The Sunday vessel arrival into Honolulu was not impacted by the storm and operations were completed on Monday 8/6.
Neighbor Island Freight off the MC085W:
- The Kawaihae, Kahului and Nawiliwili barges all sailed as schedule on Monday 8/6.
- The Tuesday 8/7 Hilo barge sailing is anticipated to sail on time tonight, however Young Brothers has advised they are currently in Hurricane Response protocol and have placed restrictions on accepting Hazardous and Limited Quantity Hazardous cargo at all of their terminals statewide.
Pacific PS581W (CHX): Vessel is currently on track for a proforma arrival into Honolulu, Wednesday 8/8. At this time the Coast Guard has no plan to close the port of Honolulu and we do not anticipate any issues with vessel operations.
Neighbor Island Freight off the PS581W:
At this time we do not have updates on the end of week barge sailings, however the same restrictions on accepting Hazardous and Limited Quantity Hazardous will apply to these barge sailings. We will continue to monitor the situation with each neighbor island and provide further updates on barge connections as we receive them.
No changes expected for Honolulu Gate Hours. We will keep you posted of any potential schedule changes.
