Warehouse Associate I

Primary Location: Tacoma, WA
Salary Range: $18 - $23 DOE
Move freight, stock, or other materials or perform other general labor.
- Operate forklift to load and unload incoming and outgoing cargo and freight shipments from shipping dock to containers based on load plans
- Arrange freight and cargo for delivery to loading platform
- Prepare and examine bills of lading to determine shipping charges and tariffs
- Freight inspection, monitor incoming/outgoing freight
- Responds professionally to all customer’s needs and concerns
- Maintains cleanliness of the warehouse by sweeping floor, wiping up spills, and keeping space organized
- Responds promptly and professionally to internal staff and customer needs/concerns in a quick and courteous manner and able to bring unresolved issues to management
- Work together as a team with all departments and offices
- Comply with all policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations
- Maintain positive relationships with customer and carriers
- Help resolve customer and carrier problems
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- At least 2 years of Warehousing experience
- Freight experience required
- Forklift, power tools and other heavy equipment knowledge
- Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance required
- Work overtime as needed
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- High level of composure and good stress management
- Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting events
- Basic math, written and oral communications skills
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance required
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body. This will include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, carrying, and stooping.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 60 pounds.
