He loved the industry and had two guiding philosophies: Work hard every day and&nbsp;treat employees like ohana.&nbsp;&nbsp;As importantly, our customers were central to everything he did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While graduating from the University of New Mexico, getting married and starting a family, Mike worked at the loading docks in Los Angeles. From there he rose through the ranks at HFS. As President and CEO, Mike oversaw the opening of HFS terminals in Stockton, Calif., and the company\u2019s growth into the Pacific Northwest with our Seattle, Wash., and Portland, Ore., terminals.
