{"id":3679,"date":"2017-09-12T16:29:08","date_gmt":"2017-09-12T16:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/honolulufreightservice.com\/stage3\/?p=3679"},"modified":"2017-09-12T16:31:04","modified_gmt":"2017-09-12T16:31:04","slug":"state-hawaii-harbor-wharfage-security-fee-increase-effective-oct-1-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/honolulufreightservice.com\/stage3\/state-hawaii-harbor-wharfage-security-fee-increase-effective-oct-1-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"State of Hawaii Harbor Wharfage and Security Fee Increase effective Oct 1, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: black; font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">September 12, 2017<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black; font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Aloha HFS Customer,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black; font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">As previously announced, the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Harbors Division next wharfage increase of 15% takes effect on October 1, 2017.\u00a0 Part of the State\u2019s financing plan for its multi-year harbors modernization program, a third increase of 15% is scheduled for an effective date of July 1, 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black; font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">While rates vary depending on equipment size, commodity and destination, for the majority of our customers the October 2017 change will result in increases of approximately $16 &#8211; $31 per container on domestic Honolulu freight and $33 &#8211; $66 on domestic Neighbor Island freight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black; font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">In addition, the State of Hawaii will increase the Facilities Security Charge by $2.25 for Oahu and $3.37 for Neighbor Island shipments.
