The Row Aloha team of Todd Bliss and Rick Leach, graduates of California Maritime Academy, rowed their ocean canoe – non-stop – 2,400 miles from Monterey, CA to Honolulu, HI as part of the 2016 Great Pacific Race- Classic Pair division, to raise awareness about the extent and impact of ocean pollution. Their adventure began on June 4th and was expected to take between 40 and 80 days to cross the finish line. The pair crossed the finish line in 54 days 22 hours and 17 minutes beating the previous record by 18 days. Row Aloha now holds second place in the pair division.
Todd and Rick had difficulty standing and walking after being in the canoe for almost two months. Both would consider doing it again. For more info about the race, please visit www. RowAloha.com
